I first heard about Milly’s Kidchup through her husband DJ Spin Doctor (Rod Gilmore who featured on the Daddy Cool series). He mentioned how Milly was working on this new kind of ketchup. A healthy one for kids. Milly is a fab mama who has been featured on the Lucky Things Inspire series. Although she’s busy with her day job and looking after their son Archie, she’s managed to produce Kidchup.

Celebrate your culture
How do you describe your culture? Culture can be about the way we live, who we are, our religious roots or who we want to be. It’s also about traditions, whether they’re annual or everyday, formal or informal. This weekend we will be celebrating Diwali -our Hindu new year and festival of light. As part of my degree, our geography lecturer talked about youth cultures and street art. This was a completely different side to the definition of culture I grew up with. I loved growing my own youth culture. When I was much younger, culture was about… Continue reading
The Lucky Things Meet Up in pictures
Yesterday, I wrote about why it’s important to get people together and what inspired me to organise the first Lucky Things Meet up. Looking at the event on Instagram and doing a little search on #luckythingsmeetup has been lots of fun. Everyone captured fab photos of our afternoon. In-between lots of chatting, I managed to take a few snaps of some of the lovely ladies who came along. I know I didn’t get to take pics of lots of you who were also there. Enjoy flicking through our afternoon at the Lucky Things Meet Up…

Why it’s good to get people together – the first Lucky Things Meet Up
On a Sunday morning back in September, I realised that I wanted to get people together. A chance to hang out with some of the ladies who I’d linked up with via Lucky Things blog, Twitter and Instagram. It had to be in October. November felt too far away. As everyone was so responsive to the Lucky Things Meet Up idea, it felt easy to organise. Venue booked. E-invites sent out. Treats organised. The first Lucky Things Meet Up, to be held at Drake and Morgan’s The Drift Bar on a Sunday afternoon, was starting to come together.
Don’t forget to check out the follow-up post The Lucky Things Meet Up in Pictures.
Here’s more than seven things why I organised the meet up…
Why you will always be our Baby Munch – from baby to toddler
What can I say the past 18 months have flown by. About a month ago, Baby Munch started walking. I loved it that she learned to dance before walking. That’s my girl! When you aren’t planning to have any more children (or aren’t able to) having your last baby generates lots of interesting feelings.
So good news for Baby Munch, I mean Toddler Munch, as she’s loving this promotion and next phase of her life. I interviewed her recently over a bowl of rice cakes on why she’s loving life as a toddler:
Review: Juggling the children’s bath time with Weleda Baby
I first came across Weleda products a few years ago. It’s been around since the 1920s so there’s a lovely organic story behind it. For me, it’s one of the iconic organic brands that existed before “organic” became more mainstream. When Big Munch was born I wanted to use gentle products for her bath time and get ready routine. My friend also recommended the Weleda Baby range. I had been using their hand and face creams for years so it was lovely knowing they made products just for babies and children.
Blogger: Seven top tips for bloggers from Alex at The Frugality
If you’ve seen my earlier post on Seven things I learned from Melanie C, you’ll know that Stylist Live was full of inspiration. About this time last year when I told my two friends C and B that I wanted to start a blog. They both independently said I should go and check out the blog called The Frugality. From my first read, I loved what Alex’s blog stood for – affordable style and a passion for sharing the latest high street bargains with everyone. At Stylist Live, Alex did a talk on How to turn your blog into a brand and stay authentic. Here’s seven top blogging tips I was keen to share from Alex’s talk…
Inspire: Seven things I learned from Melanie C
It was great hearing Melanie C‘s talk at Stylist Live. It was one talk I couldn’t miss. It was just over twenty years ago when The Spice Girls first came onto the scene. They changed the world of girl pop forever. I always rated Melanic C as she was also a big fan of tracksuits and trainers. Here’s seven things I learned from Melanie C that afternoon…
Food: A salmon curry night in with Tilda Aromatics
Growing up I remember sitting at the kitchen table and asking my Mum “Why do we eat rice nearly every night?” She explained that “Some people eat potatoes every day so it’s just the same as that”. Our family are of Mauritian heritage. I always remember going to the cash and carry on a Friday night with my Mum and Dad to pick up our huge bags of Tilda rice. Luckily I loved rice and still do. Giving up carbs would be disastrous for me. It’s part of my childhood and our family’s culture. I love it that Baby Munch and Big Munch are big fans of rice too.
Seven things I love about girl cousins
I’m excited that I have two girls and they have each other. Let’s hope the cute sister love lasts a very long time. I didn’t grow up with any sisters but I was so fortunate to grow up with some really cool girl cousins. In total I probably have about 32 cousins as we class those who are second cousins as first ones. I’m getting to spend a whole day with one of them today as we’re heading off to Stylist Live for lots of inspirational talks, fashion, giggles, beauty and good food. Here’s seven things I love about girl cousins…
