Blogger: Why I’m off to Mumsnet #Blogfest16

It’s obvious I love blogging. There are lots of reasons why. I’m heading to Mumsnet #Blogfest16 with about 500 other blogger colleagues. In true Lucky Things style, here’s seven reasons why…

  1. It’s good to get people together…It’s lovely looking at the Insta comments and Tweets seeing that blogger pals are going to be meeting up (and for the first time). There’s a real energy when you get to see people IRL who you don’t get to see in person much. We loved getting everyone together at the first ever Lucky Things Meet Up back in October. This year, I’ve encouraged a few of my blogger pals (well friends really) to come along to their first blogger conference. Thanks to jeniwhitchurch from Where I Write who won tickets last minute and kindly gave the second prize to one of my friends.

The Lucky Things Meet Up in pictures

Yesterday, I wrote about why it’s important to get people together and what inspired me to organise the first Lucky Things Meet up. Looking at the event on Instagram and doing a little search on #luckythingsmeetup has been lots of fun. Everyone captured  fab photos of our afternoon. In-between lots of chatting, I managed to take a few snaps of some of the lovely ladies who came along. I know I didn’t get to take pics of lots of you who were also there. Enjoy flicking through our afternoon at the Lucky Things Meet Up…

A chance to hang out with some of the ladies who I’d linked up with via Lucky Things blog, Twitter and Instagram. It had to be in October. November felt too far away. As everyone was so responsive to the Lucky Things Meet Up idea, it felt easy to organise. Venue booked. E-invites sent out. Treats organised. The first Lucky Things Meet Up, to be held at Drake and Morgan’s The Drift Bar on a Sunday afternoon, was starting to come together.

Don’t forget to check out the follow-up post The Lucky Things Meet Up in Pictures.

Here’s more than seven things why I organised the meet up…

Review: Juggling the children’s bath time with Weleda Baby

I first came across Weleda products a few years ago. It’s been around since the 1920s so there’s a lovely organic story behind it. For me, it’s one of the iconic organic brands that existed before “organic” became more mainstream. When Big Munch was born I wanted to use gentle products for her bath time and get ready routine. My friend also recommended the Weleda Baby range. I had been using their hand and face creams for years so it was lovely knowing they made products just for babies and children.
